Achilles'
Heel
By Ali Kouadri
"My Lord!" Screamed the doorkeeper
- One of your subjects has set himself on fire.
The Sovereign shook his head:
- Never mind! It is the recklessness of youth.
The doorkeeper returned screaming:
- - My Lord, the impoverished and destitute have revolted.
Laughingly, he struck his hands, saying:
- Never mind!
- - They are approaching your city.
- - Are you awakening me after twenty three springs? Nothing, son, can ever move Achilles' chair, nothing! My mirror never lies.
